In 1962, Archbishop Thomas Boland asked the Felician Sisters to assume management of the historic St. Mary's Hospital in Orange, New Jersey. Sister Mary Fidelise Ambrosewicz with Sister Mary Alma Pilarska and a staff of nine Felician Sisters served patients while they planned a massive restoration. Their efforts resulted in a total upgrade of the physical plant, addition of a new wing, and complete reconstruction of the remainder of the original facility. More than 200 beds were provided and complete support services.
