About the Felician Sisters Heritage Center & Archives

We’re Preserving
Our Legacy

Because Mother Told Us To

Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska emphasized the importance of keeping chronicles of the sisters' lives and work to preserve their history and, specifically, to save the memories of their efforts “from oblivion.”

The Felician Sisters of North America Heritage Center & Archives was built in humble obedience to our Foundress, but also to celebrate the thousands of women making up this 150-year-old Congregation who sacrificed comfort and self to focus on the needs of others.

We keep these records to connect sisters to their roots, ensuring their history and, by extension, that God’s work through them is remembered. We share their extensive body of work in the hope that it will inspire future generations to join in their mission.

The Felician Sisters, also known as the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice (CSSF), is an international Catholic Franciscan religious congregation founded in 1855 in Poland by Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska.

A Center Built with Purpose

The shared Heritage Center & Archive and Madonna Welcome Center thoughtfully reflect the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi in a modern setting, with meandering paths and repeated columns; the space aims to create a center for conversation, reflection, and learning.

Dual Goals
The Heritage Center & Archives is located within the Madonna Welcome Center, designed to serve both the expanding university and the archival needs of the Felician Congregation. The center is the first stop for new students touring Madonna University and a site for visitors to make a Felician Franciscan pilgrimage. The combined archival facilities, exhibit spaces, administrative offices, and multipurpose and leisure spaces are meant to inspire and foster imagination.
