Mother Mary Angelina Duszynska served as provincial superior of the Buffalo province from 1926 to 1932, overseeing the completion of the provincial house and opening Villa Maria Academy to lay students. In 1932, she was elected to serve as a provincial councilor of the Congregation in Krakow, Poland, a post she held for 14 years.
With the advent of World War II in Poland, Mother Angelina was arrested by the Nazis and interned in a Krakow prison. She was transferred to a concentration camp in Liebenau, Germany, and imprisoned there for two and a half years. Upon her release, Mother Angelina returned to Immaculate Heart of Mary Province in Buffalo.
