In 1963, Sister Mary Alice Sobieraj founded this residential program for children from infancy through age seven with profound, complex disabilities. Her successor, Sister Mary Thaddeus Markelewicz, shepherded McGuire Memorial through an unparalleled period of growth over three decades, broadening the scope to include children and adults of all ages with disabilities, in residential and non-residential programs alike.
