Founded in Newfoundland in 1987 by Irish Christian Brother Bill Carrothers, Jericho House moved to Ontario, and soon after, Felician Sister Mary Jacqueline Keefe became involved, offering a Felician presence. Thousands of young people and adults are drawn to programs that include youth leadership training, social justice, and eco-spirituality retreats that foster relationship-building with themselves, with others, with creation, and with God.

Jericho House was built on 17 acres of Carolinian forest on southern Ontario's Niagara Peninsula. Retreatants go there to explore the concept of respect for all creation, each person's right to respect and dignity, and the interconnectedness of the two within the tranquility and splendor of nature's own laboratory.
