Named dean, Mother Mary lnnocenta Montay with registrar, Sister Mary Davidica Krajewski, opened the college in 1953 to sisters within the motherhouse. When Good Counsel High School, also within the convent, moved to its own location, Sister Mary Bonita Willow, president from 1963 to 1986, oversaw Felician College's expansion into the high school’s former space. Lay women were accepted in 1967, and in 1974, the school became coeducational. In 1988, the name was changed to Montay College. The school closed its doors on July 31, 1995, when the convent required the space for aging sisters.
