Sister Mary Susanne Dziedzic from the province in Buffalo with Sister Mary Johnna Ciezobka from Coraopolis, came together to found the Felician Center, a ministry in the underserved Thorn Avenue area in Kingstree, SC. The Felician Center became a melting pot of race, faith, and class that continues to thrive.

Sister Mary Johnna Ciezobka, president of the Felician Center, paints houses in the ministry’s underserved neighborhood during a volunteer week. The sisters engaged and helped neighbors to make simple updates to their homes, which has helped instill a sense of self-dignity in the community.

Pictured is Sister Mary Adrian Jumbelic, who tutored children for many years in the after-school program at the Felician Center in Kingstree, SC. Sister Adrian arrived in 2008 with Sister Mary Clarence Borkowski. Sister Mary Jacqueline Benbenek came the following year.
