Enfield Provincial Complex

An early aerial view of the Our Lady of the Angels Province in Enfield, CT.
This aerial photo of the Our Lady of the Angels provincial complex was taken in 1956. The original Orrin Thompson mansion is to the right, the new E-shaped motherhouse is to the left.
This photo is of an early view of the Felician province in Enfield, CT.
The Orrin Thompson mansion served as the Felician Sisters' first convent until a more adequate motherhouse could be constructed. On December 20, 1933, Mother Mary Annunciata Bretschneider, Sister Mary Cherubina Lukasiewicz, Sister Mary Agathonia Jaja, and Sister Mary Pelagia Kobylarz began the work of preparing the estate.
This building was originally on the neighboring Graham estate. Mother Annunciata purchased it along with 12 acres specifically to open a much-needed aspirancy in 1944. The cottage later served as the Enfield Montessori School.
