Annual Lawn Party

The annual Lawn Party was created in 1955 with Our Lady of the Angels Guild and held on the convent grounds. Dubbed “an annual recurring miracle” by Mother Bernarda Mary Jarosz, the Lawn Party was a continual success every summer, attracting thousands of people from the greater Enfield area. The sisters even arranged chartered buses to transport families and friends from their parishes.
Sister Jean Marie and Sister Mary Anselma made Polish foods for the annual Lawn Party.
Sister Apollonia Niksa supplied a babka booth at the annual Lawn Party with her legendary babka bread, which would quickly sell out each year.
Sisters and patrons looked forward to the annual Lawn Party held on the Our Lady of the Angels motherhouse grounds each summer beginning in 1955.
